Mango Snack Bite

I wait eagerly for the entire year for the mango season so I can indulge in my favorite fruit! So as soon as I got my first batch of mangoes this year I was on the hunt for some healthy snack recipe’s to make for the kids.

The reason I liked this recipe was because first it has all healthy ingredients such as oats, flax seeds, chia seeds, coconut and mango ofcourse and secondly it was very easy and quick to make.

Here are some health benefits of the ingredients in this mix:


Oats are rich in carbs and fiber, but also higher in protein and fat than most other grains. They are very high in many vitamins and minerals.

Flax Seeds

Mix of flax seeds and chia seeds

Flaxseeds are good sources of many nutrients. Their health benefits are mainly due to their content of omega-3 fats, lignans and fiber.

Chia Seeds

Despite their tiny size, chia seeds are among the most nutritious foods on the planet. They are loaded with fiber, protein, Omega-3 fatty acids and various micronutrients.


Coconut flakes are high in fiber that may also help limit your risk for high cholesterol, heart disease, certain types of cancer, and constipation and other digestive issues. It’s also a good source of minerals such as iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and zinc.


Impressive amounts of vitamin C, vitamin A, and flavonoids like betacarotene, alphacarotene and beta-cryptoxanthin in mangoes help provide benefits, such as healthy immune function, normal blood pressure, good vision and strong bones, plus added protection from lung, mouth, colon, breast and prostate cancers, and leukemia.

Recipe Outcome

I did not go with the same measurements as mentioned in the recipe. I just used half of the ingredients as I was not sure how it would turn out. In addition to the recipe on the website I added 2 teaspoons of honey to make it slightly sweeter. They were a little softer than I expected but still tasted quite good. I will surely repeat this recipe again.
